Leicestershire schools given a career education boost through business connections and video storytelling
What We Did.
The Leicestershire and Leicester Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) works with local Government, businesses and institutions to support the growth of jobs and investment in the region and bolster the local economy.
In partnership with the Careers and Enterprise Company, the LLEP hosts the area’s Enterprise Advisor Network (EAN).
The EAN is a national initiative with the aim of developing powerful, lasting connections between local businesses and the schools and colleges in their area.
The EAN programme gives students the opportunity to learn vital information about the working world from professionals, and to gain connections that can help them later, when they begin their own working life.
In 2018 the LLEP wanted to further promote the Leicestershire Enterprise Adviser Network. By telling the story of the businesses, students and partners who have been involved, it hoped to illustrate the network’s benefits, find more advisers and increase participation by schools.
As an Enterprise Adviser himself, our MD Dan Lamoon has embraced the opportunity to share his knowledge of local economic and educational regeneration. This made Colab Creation the perfect fit to help tell the story of Leicestershire’s Enterprise Adviser Network.
We attended many Leicestershire EAN events to capture talks by senior business figures, networking sessions and interviews with LLEP members, staff and students from participating schools and the Advisers themselves.
The series of short films which we produced illustrate the network’s ability to ignite learning and share knowledge among all those involved, from students learning from first-hand industry experience to school leaders and business owners.
