How Active Together brought the sports sector to life through video

Active Together wanted young people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to see that sport isn’t just about being an athlete. With Colab, they created an action-packed careers video series shining light on real people and stories.

What needed to change

The sports sector has 13 different sub-sectors – from adventure sport to health and wellbeing – yet many young people had no idea about the careers open to them.

Active Together’s mission was to make these pathways visible and exciting, but they needed a way to show them authentically and in a style that spoke to students.

The Co.lab way

We worked closely with the Active Together team to build a careers series that was fresh, fun and true to their mission:

Real voices on screen – interviews with people working across the sector, from Leicester City Football Club to Loughborough University

Energy and authenticity – vibrant graphics, music, and editing to keep young audiences engaged

Diversity on show – stories from every corner of the industry, proves there’s a role for everyone

The difference it made

The series is already being shared across schools, social channels and Active Together’s website, inspiring the next generation to see sport as a career they can step into.

And it’s still growing – with new stories being added to show even more possibilities for young people.

Working with Active Together was a true passion project for us and we are really inspired by the work they do. The team shared their expertise and vision at every stage, ensuring we captured their mission authentically whilst also giving us creative license to bring these stories to life.
